Every day children come into the foster care system at no fault of their own.  These children are waiting on loving adults to care for them.  We believe God’s best plan is that these children are placed in loving families practicing biblical hospitality close in proximity to their biological families with a goal of reunification if possible can be achieved.  We believe foster care is a great demonstration of God’s heart for families (Psalm 68:6, James 1:27) but without more homes children can often wait in not ideal settings like child welfare offices, shelters, or non family like settings.  These settings are often also away from their siblings and communities and away from caregivers that can consistently demonstrate to them what a safe and loving family can look like.  Our hope is that the safe and loving family is their biological one and all of us can be the greatest encouragers for family strengthening and restoration.

Host a foster care recruitment event, information meeting, or even training at your church or business to help promote the need for more foster families. 111Project would be honored to partner with you in finding the right agency partner for your church or helping you create an event.  Ready or not to foster, we would be honored to visit with you to answer your questions and help you take your next steps.

Caring for foster families is good pastoral ministry.  Sometimes churches can forget that foster families are on the frontline of really hard ministry. Caring for families that are welcoming children into their homes is an effort of which the whole church can be a part.  Creating an infrastructure to care for these families and the families and children they are ministering to is important.  From creating a formal wrap around program to looking for little ways to create a culture that is intentional in supporting foster families.  We would be honored to helping you mobilize your church!
