Come join us for a special pre-screening of The Sound of Hope. On July 4th, Angel Studios will release “The Sound of Hope: A Story of Possum Trot,” which tells the story of Bishop and First Lady Donna Martin living in the town of Possum Trot in East Texas. Based on a true story, it follows how the couple, along with 22 families, adopted 77 of the most difficult to place children in their town’s local foster care system and ignited a movement to protect vulnerable children that continues today. As a movement partner, 111Project is hoping to mobilize as many of our faith and child welfare partners their networks to see this film and to learn how to make an impact in solving our states foster care crisis. We believe the film is going to not only be inspiring but speak to the heart of the church being at the center of a solution to the crisis. Inspired by the powerful true story, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, follows Donna and Reverend Martin as they ignite a fire in the hearts of their rural church to embrace kids in the foster system that nobody else would take. By doing the impossible–adopting 77 children–this East Texas community proved that, with real, determined love, the battle for America’s most vulnerable can be won. This pre-screening at the host church is free for you and other leaders in your community! If you love the movie, please encourage others to purchase tickets after May 8th; this is the first day tickets will be available. If you know someone who works with children and families in crisis, gift them a ticket! This is our opportunity to impact the world with what mobilizing the local churches in every community can do to change the world for a child without a family! Based on the true story of how Reverend Martin and his wife, Donna Martin, in their small Bennett Chapel church of Possum Trot, East Texas, were able to help 77 of the most difficult-to-place children become adopted by 22 families. This is a pre-screening opportunity for community leaders, church leaders, and child advocate workers to see the movie, helping spread the word and booking theaters in advance.
