Last week, we gathered at the OKC Farmers Market to celebrate and show our appreciation to some of Oklahoma’s fantastic churches and partners. Together, they have advanced the mission of mobilizing the local church for the betterment of children and families in our state. 111Project is grateful beyond words to link arms with so many churches and organizations in Oklahoma.
111Project Executive Director, Chris Campbell, kicked off the event with a snapshot of impact but also highlighted where there is still significant opportunity for community engagement!
To recognize their efforts, we handed out a few awards to churches across the metro for their impact in their community.
First up, Cherokee Hills Baptist Church of OKC has served 550 kids by meeting over 225 requests from OKDHS. Their economic impact of $225,000 earned them the Impact Award.
Because of their willingness to hold two church wide recruitments events, Life.Church has recruited hundreds of foster families. They have served over 1550 kids and had an economic impact of $605,000, which earned them the Trailblazer Award.
Destiny Christian Center of OKC launched a full service foster and adoption ministry this year. They have served over 230 children through their engagement on CarePortal.
We are thrilled to present Destiny with the Rising Star Award.
Rallying agency partners such as Youth and Family Services, OKDHS, and Yukon Public Schools, Covenant Christian of Yukon launched Canadian County this year. Their active response team and ability to link arms with agencies earned them the Collaboration Award.
With the largest single response team in Oklahoma on CarePortal, Emmanuel Baptist Church Enid was presented with the Mobilizer Award. Garfield County was loved on well by Emmanuel Enid, and we are thankful for their example.
The County Award went to Garfield County because of their meeting 100% of the requests received. We are excited to watch them as they have added new community partners!
Council Road Baptist Church, Advocate Award recipient, is leading the way in how they host foster care and adoption events for OKDHS. Advocating for adoption, they support the Karis Adoption Fund, which exists to help offset the cost of domestic as well as international adoptions for Christian families.
Driving collaboration between deeper engagement partners like Stand in the Gap and Safe Families,
Crossings Community Church earned the Tier 2 Award.
The Community Award went to Cleveland County Churches for their willingness to host monthly collaborative meetings with OKDHS and highlight community projects.
Summit Church has piloted and led the way in caring for the needs of its members. They are ranked #2 out 2200 churches nationally utilizing the Church Entered Needs feature on CarePortal.
We gladly presented the Church Care Award to Summit.
Robin Jones received the Legacy Award. Robin is not only a 111Project board member, but one of its founding members. Her voice and advocacy has led to a national foster movement. Robin’s persistence and determination is a reason that 111Project is here today.
Andrea Stasyszen was recognized as the Agency Advocate of the Year for her leadership on the OKDHS Community Partnerships Team.
Scott Platter, the Executive Director of North American Ministries for the Global Orphan Project, recognized 111Project’s Executive Director, Chris Campbell with the CarePortal National Leadership Award for 2020.
Oklahoma succeeded in 10,000 children served in our state the week before the event. This has us all dreaming and more determined than ever to see that we have enough churches to answer every need that comes through CarePortal.
