We hope you are having an amazing summer! 

In June, we had 497 requests made on our 111Project CarePortal. This is almost an 150% increase from last year! If I am honest, it is in seasons like these that my faith is stretched and tested. Can we handle this growth? Can we really build a network of care that can close the gaps of support?  

Even in all this activity, you still met right at 67% of all those needs for Oklahoma kids. While that is amazing, I still think about the 33% of those needs we didn’t meet. I think about the family that couldn’t continue to foster because they didn’t have support. The biological family that couldn’t start visitation because a resource wasn’t there. The grandma that said no to raising her grandkids because she couldn’t keep up with the utilities. Or the caseworker that quit, because it was all too much.  

Those types of needs are in that 33%. We play such a small role in God’s work but we do believe everyone can do something. When that something is serving a family on CarePortal, it changes the Oklahoma Child Welfare System. What you do matters, Church! Every single thing. Thank you for representing the Kingdom of God so well.
