Northcare, a CarePortal requesting agency, submitted a request in Garfield County for utility assistance for $250 – a request met by Emmanuel Enid in 11 minutes.
“Help for this family was received so very swiftly!” Northcare stated through the CarePortal feedback feature. “The first response was 11 minutes from posting the request, and meeting the family’s need in full, that’s absolutely phenomenal! We are so very thankful and appreciative for the help given to this family!”
CarePortal is a growing connection technology, managed by the 111Project, that allows agency partners to submit vetted needs to the community and local churches to serve families in crisis. This tool is an asset to every community as it provides families in need access to resources and people willing to help.
After finding mold in their home, a mom and her 3-yer-old son moved residences to improve their living conditions. Originally, the plan was to pay the electric deposit for the new home in payments, but that plan fell through, and the mom needed help paying the $250 electricity deposit.
The request was fully met by Sarah Rockwell, a responder at Emmanuel Enid. Rockwell said she has been checking the needs, but always seemed to be too late.
“I felt that there was a need coming up that I could give to, so I was anxious to pursue the Lord’s calling,” she said. “I’m thankful to be able to help that young mother and look forward to doing so in the future.”
Jamie Smith and Kynna Smith were also willing to assist with the utility deposit.
“The family will be able to keep their electricity running at their newly established residence because their deposit was paid!” Northcare stated. “Without the deposit being paid, the family would have had their electricity account disconnected until full payment of the deposit could be made. With the help from Emmanuel Enid, the family was able to keep their electricity account active!”
By meeting this request, Emmanuel Enid helped strengthen a biological family. See the open requests here.
