This past month we have seen an unprecedented bunk bed build providing local churches with beds to give to kids through CarePortal, county number 52 was launched, 26 community gatherings were held, and 730 kids were served through CarePortal. We have much to celebrate! And yet, we still have much work to do!
Each year, the Oklahoma abuse and neglect hotline fields over 80,000 phone calls, highlighting the crisis faced by 134,000 impacted children. Immediate threats of harm often necessitate the removal of children, either to kinship homes or caring foster families. These families reflect the heart of Jesus Christ extending familial hospitality to these children. Supporting and recruiting more families is at the center of 111Project’s mission of mobilization with the local church.
111Project is tirelessly building a statewide care network, connecting people who care with trusted agencies serving families. Through monthly community collaborations and 111Project’s CarePortal, we aim to provide crucial support to families in need and build a better pathway of awareness and involvement that we hope will lead to even more foster homes while simultaneously preventing the need for them.
Your support contributes to sustaining this network, raising community awareness, and directly changing lives. As we move into the last weeks of the year, we are launching our Road to 77 Campaign. We believe that $100,000 in year-end one-time gifts AND 100 new monthly commitments will propel us down the road to be in all 77 Oklahoma Counties so that every child in Oklahoma has family. With this, we invite you to consider:
- A one-time or recurring donation to aid in ending the child welfare crisis.
- Advocate through prayer and sharing about the needs of children and families on CarePortal.
- Explore deeper involvement—whether meeting a specific need on CarePortal, volunteering at agency partners, or potentially considering fostering.
Every action, no matter how small, makes a profound difference. Your commitment can significantly impact the lives of children and families in our State and we are grateful for your support!
Sincerely,
Chris Campbell
