We are beyond excited for December’s Meet the 111 Team highlight… the one and only Chris Campbell! Chris is 111Project’s Executive Director. He is based in Broken Arrow and oversees the statewide efforts of the organization. Chris works diligently to direct vision, strategy, and foster connections, all while ensuring organizational health. Our team has the privilege of witnessing Chris’s passion for transformational change and his commitment to the mission of mobilizing the local Church to support vulnerable children and families. Chris has been instrumental in 111Project’s growth since hosting the first 111Project event as a church leader in Tulsa in 2011. He launched a chapter called 111Tulsa in April of 2014, became Executive Director of both organizations in October of 2014, and led their merger at the end of 2020.
Before joining 111Project, Chris gained diverse experiences across multiple fields. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledges God’s kindness in weaving together his background in vocational church leadership, manufacturing, consulting, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit leadership. With a vocal music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and an MBA from Oklahoma State University, Chris values the people he’s met along the way more than his achievements.
To those who don’t know him, Chris would describe himself as an extrovert who loves connecting, collaborating, and empowering others to make transformational changes in themselves and their communities. He and his family enjoy traveling and discovering facets of God in different people and cultures while staying deeply rooted in their own community. Chris cherishes a world where neighbors still share eggs from their chickens and sit on the back porch together.
In his life, the most important thing to Chris is stewardship — stewarding the gifts God has given him for maximum impact. This starts with his personal relationship with God, his family, and his community, and extends to the privilege of being a guest at tables across the state. Chris and his family attend a church plant currently called La Misión Iglesia, sponsored by FBC Owasso, with plans to launch as an independent church, Mesa Church Tulsa, in January of 2025.
Chris’s favorite scripture is Philippians 3:8:
“More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ.”
As an achiever, Chris holds lightly to worldly things because they pale in comparison to knowing Jesus and being known by Him. He finds fulfillment in the deeper longings of his soul, satisfied by Christ.
When asked how his faith has been strengthened by his experiences working for 111Project, Chris pointed to Ephesians 3:20-21:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Chris continues to see God do exceedingly, abundantly more through His Church, strengthening his faith and solidifying his trust in God’s plans.
On The Road to 77: The Final Miles — the journey to launch CarePortal in all 77 Oklahoma counties — it seemed only fitting to ask Chris about his go-to road trip snacks. He confessed to being a social eater who loves a variety of snacks, including sunflower seeds, beef jerky, sweet tarts, red licorice, Sour Patch Kids, Reese’s peanut butter cups, peanut M&Ms, and Snickers. Coffee with a little cream is a constant companion on his travels. Chris joked about his unique knowledge of churches, OKDHS offices, coffee shops, and state parks across Oklahoma, often finding a spot to jump into a nearby body of water.
We are tremendously blessed to have Chris leading our team at 111Project. His leadership, passion, and devotion inspire us daily as we work to mobilize the Church so every child has family.
